The Young Driver Challenge was launched in 2017 by AutoScout24 und SEAT with the aim of finding the young talent of the future in Swiss racing. Young people between 16 and 21 years of age were able to prove their racing talent on one of the seven Swiss kart tracks until May 6, 2018. The five fastest drivers from each track will then have the chance to participate in the national karting competition.
I qualified on the Roggwil kart track with the fastest time of 43.942 seconds for the national kart elimination in Wohlen. There, not only the talent for driving was tested, but also the handling with the media. It was a wonderful experience with Ken Allemann, seven-time Swiss Karting Champion, Fredy Barth, Swiss racing driver, and Nico Müller (in picture), driver in the DTM, to exchange ideas and work together to improve myself on the track. Unfortunately I could not qualify further, but I took a lot of this experience with me.
